Asia Pacific Youth Exchange

Asia Pacific Youth Exchange is an exchange program co-hosted by Asia Development Bank, United Nations Development Programme and Urban Youth Academy. It aims to train the youth with the concept of Sustainable Development Goals and give them opportunities to experience for themselves the social problems in local communities of the Philippines, Thailand and Korea. Participants identify different social problems found in their local sites and come up with sustainable and fundamental solutions. APYE consists of Leadership Development Training, Local Immersion and Asia Pacific Youth Symposium.

HeemangHanyang Leader Group

The Heemang Hanyang Leader Group is an opportunity for Hanyang University students to lead the movement of social innovation in the university, local community and global society. Each semester, a new batch of leader groups are recruited to execute student-organized projects with social missions. One of the representative programs is Youth Changemakers, which allows Hanyang students to work with younger cohorts of middle and high school kids to help them develop projects with social missions. The Leader Group works locally in Seongdong-gu, in rural areas in South Korea, and soon in communities around the world, to create unique learning experiences for everyone, everywhere. The Leader Group is currently working on 10 projects on issues related to the environment, multiculturalism, and mental health and well-being.

Global Social Venture Program

The Global Social Venture Program is based on a ‘sandbox’ concept for innovation, which provides student-led social venture teams with training, networks and funding to get them from idea to proof of concept. It offers students the opportunity to:
  • Learn fundamental principles for solving problem and creating social change
  • Create business models and execute for mission-driven social ventures
  • Develop a set of skills, tools, and practices to support their journey as social entrepreneurs
A sandbox is a playground for aspiring student entrepreneurs to try their ideas. Sandboxes feature loose structures to support experimentation and connect students with mentors, investors, social and business leaders. While the concept has traditionally been used in tech (started at MIT), the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals for 2030 requires creative solutions for the world's most pressing challenges. We have to look beyond technological innovation to social innovation.
