Hanyang Social Venture Competition

About the Competition

Hanyang’s Social Venture Competition is part of Hanyang University Global Engagement (HUGE) initiative to provide student-led social innovation with training, networks and funding to enable them to change the world. The Social Venture Competition is held annually at the Seventeen Hearts Festival, named after the Sustainable Development Goals for 2030 (SDGs), as a celebration of innovation and impact locally, nationally and internationally. Since its founding in 1939, Hanyang has been guided by its philosophy of “Love in Action”. In 2015, in the spirit of the founding philosophy, Hanyang established the Social Innovation Center as it endeavors to become a global leader in social innovation, tackling social problems by deploying effective and sustainable solutions. The Social Venture Competition is part of a larger ecosystem providing training, networks and funding for aspiring student entrepreneurs. We support students to try their ideas - to fail, to learn, to succeed. We provide a playground with loose structures for experimentation, connecting students to friends, mentors and professionals. We believe it is our responsibility to equip young people with the attitude, knowledge and skills to create their own future.
